Settling in
We’re finally starting to get a little more settled and have the place feel like home. The TV is set up, the aquarium is all set. We’re hanging coat racks and mirrors, organizing closets, building bookshelves, and lacquering tables.
In other news, I absolutely demand that Ikea open a store in Albany. There are no consolations for this, it is simply imperative. I had to work in New Jersey (home of all that is unholy) late last week and stopped at the Paramus Ikea to look at tables, desks, and other odds and ends. I swear to God, I wanted to move right into the store. I ended up coming home with an Ingo solid pine table and four black Stefan chairs with pads for something ridiculous like $150. I’m going to go back this summer to put together a sweet computer desk system.

I’m getting the Stefan chairs for my new place
I lovelovelove Ikea. In the UK, at least, their facilities for kids is incredible. We often travel the hour each way to our nearest one just to eat lunch (meatballs!), play in the kid’s section and scope out the bargain corner (the mattresses always have sweet deals).
Glad to hear the moving-in is getting there. You’ll have to post some pictures when it’s all done. I can’t believe there’ll be no more 13th st, though! I have so many fantastic memories from there.
